Be the Change. Volunteer.
Hands On Nashville (HON) works to address critical issues facing the Middle Tennessee community through volunteer-centric programming. Annually, HON connects thousands of volunteers to service opportunities supporting area nonprofits as well as its programs in urban agriculture, home energy savings, youth leadership development and support of public education. It all started with one Nashvillian’s desire to find meaningful ways for people to volunteer back in 1991. Creating a Culture of Service in Nashville
We’re proud to work in a city that highly values helping others. In 2014, Nashville ranked 22nd of the 51 largest cities in terms of volunteerism, according to this report by the Corporation for National and Community Service. (That’s up from our ranking of 37th in 2009.) Nashville, you continue to amaze and inspire us! It takes a village to make this happen – to create a culture of service. Every volunteer is an extremely important villager. Thank you for your spirit of service that makes this such a wonderful place to live.
